     Fred Pike Sr was born on October 27, 1932 in N. Smithfield, Rhode Island.

     Fred came to Maine from Connecticut and forever made his home in Cambridge, Maine, where he and his family started "The Salty Dog Festival" on his famiuly's farm.

     What a Bluegrass Musician, proficient on the banjo, guitar, mandolin, and anything else he felt like playing at the time. He sang a great song and once in awhile, played electric guitar.

     Fred Pike and friend Sam Tidwell formed the band "Kennebec Valley Boys", a great Bluegrass group.

     Fred Pike's untimely death was on March 5, 1977

     Fred Pike Sr was inducted into the Maine Academy of Country Music Hillbilly Heaven on September 23, 2007.
